The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe

So I watched the doctor who xmas special...

It was ok but not as good as the normal seasons of the series.
But then again the xmas specials rarely are since they tend to take place outside of the normal realm of doctor who adventures while still somehow managing to remain within the continuity of the series.

While still usually being enjoyable, they can more or less be considered filler episodes that have no real bearing on anything else going on in the doctor who universe, Which in reality is all they are meant to be. The regular season ends then we have the xmas episode to fill the void and keep us waiting for the next season to begin, however when compared to last years xmas episode this years installment seemed to fall a little short with me.

The beginning was a giant "WTF is going on?" moment which is not uncommon for doctor who but normally these moments are made more clear as the episode goes on, not the case here.

After that nothing really happens until the episode is about half way over, there was way to much time spent on the set up for such a mediocre conclusion. Again large build ups are not uncommon in doctor who but are usually worth the wait and it becomes clear why they take the amount of time to set things up that they do, However again thats not the case here.

And the ending was overly predictable, I pretty much knew how it was going to end by the half way point of the episode and even found myself reciting the typical lines that would be expected from such a situation in any modern tv series or movie.

I dont have a problem with them going with the obvious ending because after all it is a xmas episode but would it hurt to spice it up a little bit? The whole thing just seemed really bland which is not what I expect from doctor who, especially considering this is the last episode we get of doctor who until September. Almost a full year to wait for the next season of doctor who and this is what they give us to tide us over until them...Really?

Well at least from what I hear, Sherlock is coming back so there is always that to look forward to.

Internet Censorship

For the people wondering why I havent posted anything new to this site in the Past 2 months, The short answer is that I am waiting to see what happens with this SOPA stuff. There isnt really much point in putting a bunch of effort into this if the site may have to come down. So if you want to see some content from this website check out americancensorship.org and help stop SOPA.

Editors Note:
This article originally appeared with a black masking over the text as part of the internet blackout day set up to protest the SOPA act. Since SOPA did not pass, the black masking has been removed so that the article can now be read. However just because SOPA did not pass, does not mean the issue of internet censorship has passed. I encourage everyone who enjoys the content on this site as well as other sites like this one, to stay informed on these issues as they arise so that myself and others like me can continue to produce content for your enjoyment and the entertainment of everyone.

Mobile Phone Authentication

You know what pisses me off ... every time a create a new account somewhere it asks me for my mobile phone number.

I know this is 2011 but not everyone has a mobile phone and I really dont need your crappy website implying that I am a lower class citizen just because I chose not to have one.

When I did have a mobile phone it was rare that anyone called me and it was even rarer that I ever called anyone, about the only calls I would get were usually one of my parents calling to tell me some distant family member had died or work calling me to see if I could come in early because someone else didnt show up.

I did not see why I should be the one paying so that everyone else could have the luxury of contacting me where ever I am, when I could be putting the money wasted every month on minutes I dont use, to much better uses, like paying my rent.

I suppose if I was a typical teenager who didnt have to work for a living and whos parents bought what ever new cell phone is trending that month, then maybe I might have a mobile phone number but guess what ... I still wouldnt enter it on your website!

Honestly what do you need my phone number for anyway? Sure you say its for authentification, to better protect my account, or to make it easier to recover my password if its ever lost, but I call bullshit!

If I were to give you my phone number, sure you might do those things but next thing I know I would also start getting calls from unknown or blocked 800 numbers or random text messages trying to get me to sign up for or buy some crap I had no interest in and never asked to be contacted about in the first place and on top of that, its wasting my minutes on your garbage!

So in closing, NO I will not enter my mobile number into your website so stop fuckin asking!

Banks

You know what pisses me off? Banks! I hate banks, you finally find one you like that doesn't give you a bunch of bullshit and you use there service for 6 months to a year and then what happens? They start making changes to there account structure the implement all the bullshit that made you stay away the other banks in the first place.

So I have had my account for almost 2 years now and I chose this bank because there was no minimum balance required, no monthly maintenance fees taken out of the account, no "we are gonna take your money for no reason" bullshit.

So today I get an email telling me about the "exciting new changes that are already in place for my account" first there will be a monthly maintenance fee of 10 dollars unless i maintain a minimum balance or set up direct deposit. 1.) my work does not offer direct deposit. and 2.) I am already basically living pay check to pay check so a minimum balance is going to be hard to maintain when i have fucking bills I have to pay. so now i have an additional 10 dollars that will be taken out of my account every month that I already cant afford.

But it doesn't end there. I also now have a monthly 4 dollar fee in order to be able to use my debit card anywhere other then an ATM. SERIOUSLY? WTF! $15 dollars a month in bullshit fees are you fucking kidding me???

Oh but here is the best part of the email. I can avoid these new charges by switching my account to this new "secured" account they have just recently set up that has ... get this... no minimum balance required and no monthly maintenance of debit card fees........ ISN'T THAT WHAT I ALREADY FUCKING HAD???? I bet it would be safe to assume that this new account would also lack some feature that I would need and the only way to get that feature back would be to move back to the account I already have right?

Oh and in case you missed this part at the beginning of this rant THESE CHANGED HAVE ALREADY TAKEN PLACE TO MY ACCOUNT! No notification other then this email I just got telling me these changes took place in September and will be reflected on my October Statement.

FUCK YOU BANKS!
